NOTICE OF MARCH 2, 2021 SPECIAL COUNTYWIDE BOND ELECTION
AND SPECIAL BOND ELECTION FOR THE CITY OF MITCHELLVILLE
Notice is hereby given to the qualified electors of Jasper County, State of Iowa, that a special election in said county will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the polling sites for some precincts have changed. In accordance with IAC 721-21.50(10), any voter who is physically unable to enter their polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. The electors at this election shall vote on whether to approve Public Measure JA, which is a 3.6 million dollar bond issue. Full text of this public measure may be found on the sample ballot being published with this notice.
ALSO: Notice is hereby given to the qualified electors of Jasper County, State of Iowa and living in the City of Mitchellville that said electors will also be voting on Public Measure MA which is a 1.5 million dollar bond issue. Full text of the public measure may be found on the sample ballot being published with this notice.
All Polls will be Open from 7:00am until 8:00pm.

**Notice of polling place change: The 3 Colfax City precincts and the Mound Prairie and Washington and the city of Mitchellville precinct polling places have been temporarily combined and those voters will vote at the Jasper County Fairgrounds located at 359 Walnut St. in Colfax.
**Notice of polling place change: The Palo Alto and the city of Reasnor precinct polling place has been temporarily combined with the Fairview/Monroe precinct polling place and voters will vote at the Monroe City Hall, 206 W. Sherman in Monroe.
**Notice of polling place change: NT 1-2 and Newton/Sherman and Lambs Grove precinct polling places have been temporarily combined with the NT 1-1 precinct polling place and voters will vote at the Jasper County Church of Christ (former Union Hall) located at 1813 1st St. N. in Newton.
**Notice of polling place change: NT 2-1 precinct polling place has been temporarily combined with NT 2-2 precinct polling place and voters will vote at the St. Luke United Methodist Church located at 501 E. 19th St. N. in Newton.
**Notice of polling place change: NT 3-1 precinct polling place has been temporarily combined with NT 3-2 precinct polling place and voters will vote at the Jasper County Community Center (former Aldi’s) located at 2401 1st Ave. E. in Newton.
**Notice of polling place change: NT 4-1 precinct polling place has been temporarily combined with NT 4-2 precinct polling place and voters will vote at the American Legion located at 1101 W. 4th St. S. in Newton.
Public testing of the voting equipment to be used in this election will begin at 1:00 pm. On Tuesday, February 23, 2021 and will continue until completed, at the Jasper County Election Equipment Building, 113 W. 2nd St. S., Newton, IA 50208.
The Voter Pre-Registration Deadline for this Election is February 19, 2021 in the Auditor’s Office or by mail if postmarked on or before February 16, 2021. The deadline for registered voters to request an Absentee Ballot by mail is February 19, 2021. If an eligible elector is unable to register to vote on or before the registration deadline, Iowa Law permits Election Day Registration at their polling location with current proof of Identity AND Residence within the precinct.
Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered-such as voters registering to vote on Election Day and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of
residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification and/or residence shall either 1) have their identity and/or residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents or 3) cast a provisional ballot AND provide proof of identity and residence at the County Auditor’s office before Noon on Monday, March 8, 2021. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification.
