Voting by absentee is the same as early voting and vote by mail. There is no difference in Iowa. All ballots are the same as the ballot that a voter receives on Election Day at their Polling Place.
If you have requested a ballot by mail, vote using that ballot and return it to the Jasper County Auditor's Office. Returning your ballot is simple.
If you have not requested an Absentee Ballot, but you are looking to vote early, you may do so by casting your vote here in the Auditor’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Early voting ends at 4:30 PM on November 2nd.
The last day to request a ballot by mail is Saturday, October 24th at 5:00 pm.
To vote in the upcoming election you must either pre-register to vote by October 24th or register on Election Day by taking a current photo ID and proof of residence (bank statement, utility bill, paystub etc.) to your Polling Place. You may also pre-register online on the Iowa DOT website or by coming to Auditor’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
If you have not voted prior to Election Day on November 3rd, you must go to your polling place. A list of updated polling places can be found here.
