City/School Election

City/School Election
School and City Elections are combined and held in November of odd-numbered years. A City election is used to elect the Mayor and Council Members and any other elected city officials. A School Election is an election to select School Board members for school districts within [[County]] County.

Monday, August 25th: Candidate filing begins today for the City/School Election on November 4, 2025. Candidates will file paperwork with their city clerk or school secretary. 

Tuesday, August 26th: Today is the first day to submit an absentee ballot request if you want your ballot mailed to you. Ballots will go in the mail on October 15th. 

Thursday, September 18th: Today is the deadline to file Candidacy Papers for the November 4th, 2025 City/School Election 5 PM. Candidates will file paperwork with their city clerk or school secretary.

Wednesday, October 15th: Absentee Voting in person begins today at the Jasper County Courthouse, Room 201. Ballots will also be mailed today for those who have submitted requests. If you want a ballot mailed to you but have not yet submitted a request form, the deadline to do so is Monday October 20th at 5 PM. 

Monday, October 20th: The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is 5 PM today. 

Monday, November 3rd: Today is the last day to absentee vote in person at the Jasper County Courthouse, Room 201. Tomorrow is election day, and you will need to go to your precinct to vote!
